Decorative gold effects for packaging and labels
Decorative gold foil offers surface effects for designs that need a different appearance from a uniform gold area. Select the effect from a catalogue and an actual stamped sample; a colour name or roll photograph alone is not enough to approve the finish.

Compare the effect from different viewing angles
View the sample under several lighting angles and check pattern direction, stamped area and fine details against the artwork. If you need a uniform gold area, see plain gold hot stamping foil.
Match the grade to the stamping surface
Send the actual paper, lamination, ink or plastic sample and identify the stamping machine. An effect that looks good on paper does not establish adhesion on plastic. Test coverage and adhesion on the intended surface before production.
Roll format and quotation
Widths of 64 or 128 cm, roll length and core size are checked by grade. Specify slit widths, roll quantity, stamped area and required delivery timing. Earlier references to 12-micron foil and 90–120°C must be confirmed for the actual grade and process; they are not universal settings.
Are all decorative foils holographic?
Not necessarily. Confirm the supplied code and physical effect rather than identifying a foil type from a roll photograph. For a changing rainbow effect, see decorative holographic foil.
