Foil selection for PET and PVC decoration
ENOMI accepts enquiries for hot stamping foil used to decorate PET and PVC packaging, covers and tags. Send the intended colour, artwork and material sample to discuss a suitable foil grade and roll format.
Identify the exact surface to be stamped
Please identify the exact side to be stamped. Bare plastic, treated plastic, UV ink and protective coatings can present different bonding surfaces. If a removable PE protective film is present, explain when it is removed in the production process.
Assess the sample on the production equipment
Trials should check coverage, fine details, edge definition, adhesion and the appearance of the plastic after stamping. Where folding, cutting or gluing follows, assess the sample after those operations as well.
Temperature, pressure, dwell time and speed depend on the selected grade, material and equipment. Confirm the settings on the actual machine.
Roll format and quotation
For a quotation, provide roll dimensions, core diameter, winding direction, slit widths, quantity and required delivery timing.
Frequently asked questions
Can one foil grade work on both PET and PVC?
A grade may suit more than one substrate, but each actual surface and production condition needs assessment.
Does a PU adhesive formulation guarantee adhesion to plastic?
The formulation name alone does not establish compatibility. The full surface and stamping conditions must be considered.
